A few tips to make the most of your Massage

No food

Don’t eat a heavy meal 90 minutes before the massage, as this makes you feel heavy and it’s not so easy to relax.

Drink lots of water

Before and after the massage it is important to drink plenty of water to flush metabolic waste from the tissues.

Don't stress

Make sure that you complete all your arrangements for the day before the massage, so that you are not distracted during the treatment. Allow yourself some space to relax to gain the full benefit of the massage treatment.

Don't get lost

If it is your first time, make sure you know how to find your way to me so that you don’t get lost and end up being late and frustrated about this.

First consultation

During your first visit, I spend about 5 to 10 minutes breaking the ice by doing a small consultation and muscular assessment, as well as explaining the massage techniques.

Payment

For payment I do not accept Credit Card or Debit cards, as I don’t have those facilities.

I do accept Cash as well as EFT (with prior arrangement).

Punctuality

Please be on time, for our mutual benefit. As I am working by myself from home, it is sometimes possible when you arrive 5 or 10 minutes early that I may still be busy with my previous client so just send me an sms if you are early and I will let you know if I am ready. Equally, if you come more than 10 minutes late, (do let me know) it is possible that your treatment will be shortened, but this will only occur if I have another client directly afterwards.

Parking

Holmfirth Road is a very quiet street, so there is usually plenty secure parking available during the day.

Gift vouchers

If you came for a massage and you would like to give this experience as a gift to someone else, I have gift vouchers available, either in electronic format or in a handwritten voucher format.

Contraindications

Should there be any medical concerns regarding massage, I will assess these during the consultation process and work my way around them. I will do my best to give you the best treatment possible, while remaining aware of any problem areas.

Releasing pain during massage

During the massage it may be possible that you experience occasional pain in certain muscles. When this occurs, I adjust the pressure so that it becomes easy for you to relax into the pain, while I help you to release it.

Full body/focussed massage

During every massage I focus on the client’s individual needs, which I assess during the consultation process. Each client’s needs are different, so every massage will be a little different. For example, some sessions may require a very focused deep session on one part of the body, like the lower or upper back, while in other sessions the focus may be on the entire body. I am very flexible in my profession and always try to assist with client concerns as best as I possibly can.

Which technique?

Based on your concerns I will choose which technique to use during the session. In most cases there is a mix of different techniques in every session. For example, I may do predominantly deeper work, but then I decide that it would be good to do some stretching in-between.

Nudity

Throughout the massage you will be covered with sufficient towels. I only uncover the part of the body that I am working on at any given moment in time. There is no need to be concerned about being overly exposed.
